If you are shopping for an Audi SUV in the 2021 model year, the Audi Q5 and the Audi Q7 are both excellent choices. The Audi Q5 is selected as a favorite among small luxury SUVs by Edmunds, while the Q7 is rated as #1 in its class of midsize luxury SUVs. The Q5 is ideal for drivers who don't require the full space of a standard SUV but still want an athletic, nimble, and comfortable small SUV that is powerful and fuel-efficient. The 2021 Q5 even brings to the market some changes that enhance its appeal, including changes to its exterior, a mild hybrid system, and an updated infotainment system with a larger display screen. The Q7 is slightly larger and has three rows of seats. Changes are more moderate for the Q7 this year following a significant update in 2020, but nevertheless, it is still a fan-favorite with many enjoyable and useful features.

In 2021, the Audi Q5 has some updates to its engine that gives it more power. This year's Q5 has a turbo four-cylinder engine that produces 261 HP in maximum power, which is an increase of 13 HP from the year before. The engine's torque output is the same at 273 LB-FT. A new mild hybrid system is also included on the Q5 for a bit more speed and fuel savings. The Audi Q7 has two engines. The base engine is a turbo 2.0L four-cylinder that has a power output of 248 HP. Select trims can upgrade to a V6 engine with an increased power output of 335 HP and up to 369 LB-FT in torque. An automatic transmission is standard with both Audi models. All-wheel drive is standard on both SUVs as well.

In 2021, the Audi Q5 has stylistic changes to its front and back ends. The refresh focuses mostly on the headlights and taillights, which are more sculpted and visible than before. LED headlights are standard on the Q5 and Q7. The base trim of the Q7 also starts off with 19-inch wheels with the potential of upgrading to 20-inch wheels with the top trims.

A luxurious interior is a highlight of the Q5 and Q7. The Q5 now comes with a standard 10-inch display that has wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. There is also a Bang & Olufsen sound system with surround-sound speakers. A panoramic sunroof, digital instrument display, and three-zone climate control are standard features on the Q7. Both SUVs have numerous safety aids.
